Designing with AI

From insights to ideation, a collaborative process

I use AI in every stage of my work. It amplifies my expertise, helping me pressure-test my thinking, move faster, and work more efficiently, almost like cloning myself. It’s what enables me to operate as a single design leader supporting an entire engineering team.

Problem definition

Gemini/GSuite

I use Gemini and ChatGPT to synthesize patterns in user research, applying my own intuition and judgment to validate insights, refine themes, and uncover root causes. AI helps me connect qualitative signals to business outcomes and identify new design opportunities in less than an hour instead of days. Expertise allows me to push the AI insights further by critically "wrestling" with the outcomes.

For exploration and ideation, I use AI to stress-test ideas, surface risks, and generate alternative concepts. I outline user stories, edge cases, and core user journeys, then use v0, Figma Make, and Cursor to turn those ideas into fast, interactive prototypes, testing microinteractions, and simulating agentic workflows. I also generate realistic datasets and system responses for demos and usability tests. Ultimately codifying efficiency, prompt engineering, and interaction patterns into scalable design systems.

And beyond...

I use AI to refine everything I write, from UX copy to documentation. I prompt it to critique my reasoning, highlight blind spots, and simulate stakeholder feedback to strengthen or evolve my proposals. I continuously experiment with getting the most out of AI from granular efficiency gains to broader agentic AI automations.

Across every stage, AI is both my accelerator and my collaborator. It is not, however, my best friend. #teamChatGPT5
